THE PROS
I enjoy our house. I love our lawn. Among my friends lives a block away, and there is an extraordinary homemade tough cider location that's lacked the basement of a household house, and there are a few fantastic regional stores and dining establishments. There are a lot of positives about where we live now. There were also a lot of tradeoffs included with choosing to move out of the city.
I'm going to begin with the pros list, the fantastic things about where we live and why we chose to move here. When I lived in the city in a very popular area, every time I walked my dog I would look up the information on any home I would see with a for sale sign out front. That's a substantial savings from a home mortgage in the city, and is significantly lower than our rent in the city or residential areas.
Another pro is that we live closer to household. We live in the exact same town as my moms and dads, and are a short drive from my in-laws and grandparents. We have much more outdoor space than we could have gotten in the city on our budget, consisting of a large, fenced-in backyard.
Creekin'
I matured going "creekin,'" capturing amphibians, riding 4 wheelers, and having the day of rest school for the very first day of hunting season. It was an actually excellent youth.
THE CONS
There is certainly a cost to moving out here, too. For beginners, it seems like everyone knows everybody else! And in some cases I just want to go to the supermarket in my sweats for red wine and cookie dough and not encounter one of my previous teachers or friends' moms and dads, ya know ?? Bear with me as I go through these cons; I'm not attempting to grumble (much), but the truth is that there is a lot to consider when considering moving from a city you like to a lower expense of living area in order to conserve cash.
Perhaps among the most obvious failures of living in a small, rural, low expense of living area is that it's far from things. Much of my good friends live in or closer to the city, and it needs more planning and driving in order to see this contact form them. It's also even more from entertainment; there is a little selection of great dining establishments close by. When I remained in the city I might walk to numerous locations and drive to a virtually limitless list of bars and restaurants. Cincinnati is an extremely foodie-friendly city with an amazing brewery scene. I've said this prior to and I'll state it permanently: food is life. Places in my little town likewise close earlier. Now, I'm not much of a party animal anymore, but if I want to be out behind 11 p.m. there is truly only one choice here. And it's fantastic, but in some cases I desire to be out at a bar where see here I'm not visiting any of my previous instructors, friends' parents, or anybody I went to high school with. Uber and Lyft aren't a thing here when it comes to getting house securely. You have to find a great old fashioned designated driver, or walk. (Once, my friend who lives a block away and I got a bit toasted at the regional white wine store and walked two miles to get to the hard cider location. Fortunately we found a buddy from high school there with his parents, who offered us a trip back. Advantages and disadvantages of knowing individuals everywhere you go.) When I lived in the city, an Uber would be readily available to choose me up within minutes at any time of day, and it was a cheap trip anywhere, usually under $10.
If I were to get a different job in my field, I would have to drive to one of the significant cities, at least about 40 minutes each method. When I lived in the city, there were SO MANY choices for mental health jobs, as well as other resources consisting of numerous grocery choices, yoga studios, pet shops, and so on. And not to sound too petty here, however the grocery shop in my town doesn't offer the excellent brand of goat cheese that I like, and I have to drive 30 minutes to the nearest Kroger that does.

While I enjoy my home and there are a lot of things I like about my town, I do miss living in the city. I don't see myself living in this town permanently, and right now returning to the city remains in the medium-term strategy.
